I want to install Linux in my computer, but i don't know what to do. Last time i install Red Hat in my computer, i can't run my computer (and my XP seems like have problem).

anyone know any web for beginner? or suggestion?

My first suggestion would be to use knoppix. Here is link, to a mirror. Knoppix is a bootable CD, with it you can run Linux of the CD without having to install anything in your hard drive. You will have the reliability of Debian, and a whole bunch of different Window Managers.

On the other hand if you want to install Linux on your hard drive, I would suggest Red Hat. Just install windows first, and let windows have the MBR. You can install Red Hat on a second primary partition, and just use a boot floppy to boot into linux. That's what I would suggest,

thx, and one more question, do i need to install another software if i want to encode another language (like Chinese)?
or Linux can work like XP (auto encode)?

most versions of linux support other languages, I think 2 viarities of chinese are supported,
but I don't know how to use them since I only use english. :(
