Just about to install my new HSF to my new Tbird and so I remover the little plastic tab that says "Remove Liner" and "CHOMERICS."

Underneither is a little pink square. Am I suppose to remove that as well?
Is the plastic tab a sign to remove the pink thing, or just a sign to remove itself?

Will wait for reply.

The pink square on the bottom is a thermal pad. Keep that on there for now unless you have some better thermal compound around (like Arctic Silver or something).

Yes, remove the plastic tab. That protects the pink square from getting stuff on it.

its a thermal interface material. you may leave it on as it performs well, but if you plan to overclock or swap cpu's frequently, wait and get some arctic silver to make cpu removal easier.
