Help! Issues with Fujitsu Lifebook T4215

Hello all,
A good buddy of mine is having some frustrating issues with his Fujitsu T4215 when hooking it up to an external VGA monitor. (windows XP is on the machine) The issue comes when the machine is restarted, as the monitor is no longer selected as the secondary monitor in the extended monitor settings. We have to redo all the settings after every restart.
Has anyone had any issues similar to this? I hope i'm posting this in the right place...i haven't been around here too long. Thanks in advance!!
 
Check Fujitsu's site for a BIOS update that may address this problem. Also, contact their tech support.
 
Thanks for the quick replies guys/gals. I contacted their tech support this morning and they unfortunately said there is no fix. Oh, well.
 
Could DangerRanger, or someone else, describe the steps to get an external monitor working.
The steps needed, do not appear to be simple.

PS I am so desperate, I can happily live with the problem of having to do it on every start.
