What's the problem exactly? Is it that windows did not install drivers or is it that the drivers are installed but the you can't hear any sound? Check out the manufacturer of the soundcard and see if they have updated drivers on their site.

Well since its ISA your best bet would be to uninstall all your PCI cards, then install your ISA card. Chances are your PCI cards are plug n play, older ISA cards are not so it needs a specified IRQ and I/O addresses while plug n play uses a range of availiable IRQs and I/O addresses.

Doh oh wait I just re-read your problem. If you want to use your ISA sound card you're going to have to disable the onboard sound on your motherboard through the BIOS.

If you are not sure of your motherboard model, look at the motherboard the name should be there either on the labeling of a chip or screened in an area of the motherboard that isnt used.

I think storms initial idea might be the way to go, you may even need to disable on board com/parallel ports in the bios, really free up the resources and then the card may find it's place.

I don't think ISA cards and Windows XP were ever really expected by microsoft to be used together, so there can be issues.

Edit: as a side note, how much ram in that system?, PII 350 is only just above Microsofts recommended specs for Windows XP so it will run a fair bit slower than 2000.

My bad... then try what I stated in the first paragraph of my post... along hte same lines you might have to do what The Corm suggested.
