Help! Is my temp so bad that it cause hiccup in game?

Hey, Speedfan display my temp2 as -48 (it used to be -38). I've read somewhere that the highest number is always the CPU. It's been -48 for a whole long day already. Sometime when I play Far Cry....the game would do a lock up (hiccup) for a couple of second (sometime only, not often). I don't think it's my graphic card since it's a 6800 OC. Might be the CPU is too hot that it does that?

Maybe it's my CPU that it's not cool so good? I'm running the stock HSF btw, will getting the Zalman 7000B Alcu helps?

my spec:

Thermaltake Tsunami with 400w psu
3400+ Clawhammer running stock HSF (Arctic Silver 5 as the paste)
Soltek SL-k8AN2E-GR
BFG 6800 OC
1 gig Ram
 
48C is not a very high temp for a processor under load. I Doubt that would be cauing the hiccups. I would try updating audio & video drivers before worrying about processor temps.
 
Did you try updating the drivers for the video card?

Also, try download Motherboard Monitor to see what that tells you (although, that gave me odd readings with my DFI LanParty board...)

If neither of those help, try running prime95 or some CPU burn-in software to see if you can get the system to 'hiccup' outside of a game.
You could also clock the video card down a bit, if it's overclocked.

Is the case airflow good?
 
you really need to isolate the temps and find out which is which. try running prime95 or a cpu stresser and then find out which temp is cpu. and as someone already said, 48 isnt high enough to cause problems.
i have tested my sempron up to 72*c, and it only f'ed up over 69*c.

does the 6800 have a temp sensor? b/c that would be helpful as well.
 
Another good program to try is called Everest Home Edition. It was free last time I checked and is the only program I've used that accurately reports the CPU diode temperature on my asus a7n8x. MBM and Asus probe both only read the socket temperature which is considerably lower.

Hi, Everest doesn't say anything about CPU when I clicked on Sensor. It just have the Mobo's temp, and some odd name ~Adx or something. I doubt that name is for the CPU.

Hmmmm....my mobo, video card, audio are all update to the lastest. I just don't if it's the game's bug or something.
 
Oh my god, when I install Soltek HM back, Speedfan show up as -38 instead of -48. When I uninstall Soltek HM, Speedfan go back to -48. .....!!!

Update: Okay guys, I ran Prime95 torture test. After 30 minute, it only show 47c (even Prime is still running). So I think it's unaccurate, I uninstalled it. Restart, when to BIOS, and BIOS say 47c as well. So I go back to window, re-run Prime...and look at Speedfan:

temp1: 27
temp2: -48
temp3: 39 <---this is the one that always jump from 37-39.

So is my temp alright? Should I be happy about this? Or should I just order the Zalman for my sake?
