Help!! Is it dead?

I think I fried my mom's computer. I forgot to unplugg the case when I when to remove the network card. I got zapped and the system will only boot from a floppy and says the FAT or FAT32 files are missing.

The hard drive works fine in another computer so it's ok. Is the motherboard dead? Is the CPU dead? The computer is 300+ miles away so I can't do much to troubleshoot from here.

It was a AMD K6 500. I'm not even sure what form factor it was. It only had 2 PCI slots and it's smaller than an ATX.

What can be done (long distance) to fix it?
