Help! Internet Connection Keeps Going Out!

Help! My internet connection keeps going out every time I try to download something with Bit torrent (azureus/bitcomet).

I can download something for about 10-15 minutes, but after that, it will just stop downloading and my internet will not work any more.

I have a cable modem and also am using a Linksys BEFSR41 ver. 3 router. I always end up having to reset the modem.

Thanks in advance,

JJ.

Have you tried connecting directly to the MODEM?
If so, does it drop out?

If if drops out connected directly to the modem, call your ISP.

ok, this happens a LOT with linksys equipment, i have used a few linksys cards and they absolutly suck, version 4 cards give me BSOD, and version 5 drops the connecition entirely, i have learnt never to use linksys ever again.. i suspect that the router has the same problem...

the reason linksys cannot work: they cant support a lot of connections at the same time, this problem has plagues me for ages, untill i moved onto intel gigabit adapters for my network, and 3com 10/100 adapters to connect my server to my modem...

also, like the above dude, go directly to the modem, i personally hate routers, i have a standalone computer jsut for internet connection sharing and bit torrent (also webhosting and anything that cant get through NAT)

this is a very hard problem to get rid of because its not only linksys that cant hold a massive amount of conenctions at one time. lots of luck to you!!
