Hello Everyone,
I wonder if I can install WinXP without a Floppy drive. I know I can just boot using the CD rom, but since I've a Promise Raid card I need to install the driver (Press F6 thingy), and it requires me to put in a floppy w/ the driver in it. Is there a way to do this without a Floppy drive? I'm just Sick of floppys...

TIA

You can use a USB floppy disk device, but you cannot use a CD. Windows will not look at any type of removable media except a floppy disk device.

is there a way to make a copy of the WinXP Setup CD With the drivers intergrated to it? It'll save a lot of time if I can do that.

Thanks

Yes, there is a way. No, it's not simple. I just made one myself with SATA-RAID drivers loaded into it, and it took me 6 tries before I finally got it all set up right.

There was a thread about adding drivers to a windows install CD a few weeks ago that got me onto it. Do a search and you can find it if you really want to try it.
