help installing windows xp 64

I have a new build. I am trying to install windows xp 64 pro on this and am having a problem. The system will copy the files to the hard drive but when it reboots it will not start from the hard drive even when i make this the boot drive. I get a message to install boot disc in drive.
Help will be greatly appreciated. This is a first build.

asus a8n32-sli deluxe
amd 3800+ socket 939
corsair 2 gbyte twin x
seagate 7200 rpm 16mb cashe 200 gb master
seagate 7200 rpm 16mb cashe 750 gb slave
norwood micro dvd rom
asus en7600gt video card 256mb ddr3

Installing with both drives installed or just one?

Better to install with just one drive in there.
Any RAID enabled?

I had both installed after trying just one drive. I will try with one again. I do not have raid enabled.
