Help installing SATA HDD's - New Comp

This is my first time installing SATA HDD's in a system, and since its brand new, and XP Doesn't include drivers, I have hit a small pot hole here.

When I boot up with the XP CD (From IDE CD Drive), I choose to install special drivers, and put in the floppy that came with my MoBo. It includes a SATA Raid Driver, and a Mass Storage Driver.

I opt to install both of them, and Setup continues loading drivers ect, but then I get the following error:

STOP: c0000221 UNKOWN HARD ERROR
\systemroot\system32\ntdll.dll

I'm sure I'm missing something simple....so show me how retarded I am 🙂

Plug your SATA cable one of the two SATA fittings that are located above the AGP slot, and try installing Windows without supplying a driver floppy at all.

I've actually got a HD Plugged into SATA 1, 2 & 3 (3 & 4 are above AGP slot). Still nothing.

I will try without any drivers later tonight or tomorrow. Hopefully I can get it going 🙂

I have installed windows on multiple systems with multiple SATA driives and I have never had to use the floppy drivers.....

Turns out I had a bad batch of 4prong to SATA power converter cables.

Got it up and running np once I figured that out.
