Hi.. I can't seem to get my printer installed in win2000(Epson Stylus colorIIs)I get this message"Printer operation cannot continue due to lack of resources. The print subsystem is unavailable."I can't seem to get it figured out.Any help would be appreciated.

Hmmm... the Epson website says that they are not planning to create drivers for that product for win2k. Do the drivers for that printer come with win2k?

When exactly do you get the error message? Is it during the installation of the printer, or is it after installation when you try to print something?

HI tagej...the message appears right after i manually select the driver from win2000's driver list or if i double click the add printer icon.It also comes up at start up after win2000 reconizes the printer and trys to install the driver. It appears win2000 has a native driver.

Hmmm.... interesting one. Have you tried installing another printer (even if you don't have another printer installed)? Try picking another driver from the list and see if you get the same error.

If not, it has to be related to the driver. If you do get the same error when picking another driver, there's something wrong with your installation of win2k. Have you checked the MS knowledge base?

tagej...thank you for looking in to this one for me..I tried installing a different driver and the proper driver with the add hardware wizzard and got this message"The RPC server is unavailable".I'm going to look at Microsoft's knowlage database now.I don't use a printer much but maby it's time to look into a newer one.this Epson is more than 5 yearl old. Thanks again.Te-o

Tagej....WooHooo..Got it fixed!the print spooler was set to manual control in system services.I changed it to automatic and the printer driver installed.Printer works just fine.thanks again for your help...te-o
