help, installed 2000 on same partition as 98

now it keeps giving a boot menu asking which OS to load.
I deleted the WINNT folder so to completely remove Windows 2000 but need to remove the boot menu.

Is there a file in 98 that contains this information??

From a win98 startup floppy run "sys C:" (without the quotes, of course), and this will cause computer to boot directly into win98. Then you can delete the w2k boot files: boot.ini, ntldr, and ntdetect.com. If, later, you install w2k into its own partition, it will recreate the proper files for dual boot.

nice one..
it is for a mates new laptop and he aint got a floppy drive yet, but I will give that a go asap.

Wouldent he have alot more Serious problems then boot option problems when installing two operating systems on the same partition
if he chose to leave it like that?

anyway, u need to reformat and start over...your os-es are going to be confused, best to just start over.
