help in win98se

in win 98se help when i go to memory troubleshooter i get the screen that says launch memory troubleshooter wizard and then i get the next screen with a list of possible problems when i select one and then click next i get a blank screen in where the help wizard should be--in other words the wizard is not working
i tried other troubleshooting wizards and get the same results
is there something that i can do to get them to work?
i am not really having computer problems i am just curious why this aspect of win is not working

windows xp
another rip off from m$ that is full of bugs like the rest the only reason they put out a new operating system is to keep us busy with a new set of problems while they rob us blind

Is your internet explorer up to date? I believe the help system utilizes IE stuff. I tried running the wizard you are talking about on a 98 system, and it worked for me.

redbeard,
i have all the updates to present and latest ie version and everything is working i just cannot seem to get any of those wizards to work and since m$ really sold an expensive package then why not? makes me wonder if xp is not full of holes like this too seems like they add all these extra features in their introduction to the new system and when you get time enough using it to look at all of them only about half of them are actually there
thanks for letting me know that it does work now if i can only find out why it won't work on my sys

Every once in a while I lose "help" too. It seems to happen after something "corrupts" my OS. Ex. I tried to install a new CD-RW last week and it was defective. It kicked out my IDE controllers. I lost the help/troubleshoot wizards too.

I spend what time I have on this hobby playing with hardware, so I'm not knowledgeable about software/OS, but it judt seems to me that when this type of problem occurs my OS is hosed and I reinstall over top of old install (not neccessarily reformat).

Good Luck,

thanks fern
i think i just have a bad disc because i went in and did a complete clean install and it still does the same thing i have looked on other win 98 systems and their wizards work mine don't--no big thing but if i needed them i would be sol
