well i'm using a inno3d geforce2 mx400 and detonator 28.32.. i have applied the coolbits registry patch but i can't seem to OC it properly... thing is i can't set the memory speed to anything higher than 100mhz.. has anyone else encountered this problem?? what should i do?

I havn't used coolbits, but the Nvidia Overclock tab works for me. Try using this to see if coolbits or something else.

No its not on any dnld drivers,go to settings>control panel>display>under diplay properties go to settings {far right tab} then hit advanced>Geforce tab>additional properties>clock frequencies, look at that carefullt and you'll understand how to adjust them and get your computer to boot up with overclocked frequencies.🙂

yeah, i already enabled the overclock tab on the nvidia reference drivers.. but i can't set memory clock speed higher than 100mhz and it's supposed to be clocked at 166mhz by default!

Don't know much about coolbits. Can you undo any of your changes and try again? Uninstall drivers and card. Reinstall and try again.

Dunjon what vid card do you have? with geforce2 cards "MX particularily" because of the memory bandwidth your better off to O/C the memory than the core, I have a Hercules geforce2 Ti stock is 250/400 and I found the core works best O/C to 260 or 270 but the ddr memory can go as high as 500 and run stable , although I run it at 470 as not to stress it too much. Score on 3dmark 2001se at 270/480 was 5501 which is pretty damn good for this card , havent run 3dmark at memory 500 yet🙂

ors..Change your detonator driver to 14.70.Pick up the driver HERE Change your video driver back to standard VGA first. Before you install 14.70 .Go to you add/remove programs and check to make sure you don't have other video drivers/overclocking utilities installed.

i had the same problem and all i had to do was use a diff program to overclock it i used powerstrip and it worked perfectly. if you get it i bet it will fix your problem. and you can use the current nvidia drivers.

Sorry about the empty message.
What I was going to say is that I have the same problem.
I did not get any overclock tab by default in nvidias drivers, so I used the coolbits trick.
With coolbit set in registry I get the overclock tab, but I can only change the memory
between 0 and 100MHz (and default is 0MHz!?!).

Maybe I'll try out powerstrip, but I would prefer if I could get the standard drivers to do the job.

When I installed the 28.32 detonator drivers for my PNY Geforce 3, I didn't see the tab for overclocking either. After I installed GTU (Geforce Tweak Utility), I can now go into the advanced properties and see the tab.

Apparently it doesn't always appear initially.
