Which PSU should i choose for my gaming rig-
Fx 6300
GB GA-970A-DS3
R7 260x
4 gb 1600 Corsair
1 TB WD HDD (Blue)
2 or 3 120mm Cabinet fans
Asus DVD RW

P.S- It will be used only for gaming and watching 1080p movies..... nothing else and 'No overclocking'!! This rig is for long run i.e more than 5 years and i am not going to add anything in it (like upgrading CPU or crossfire) except one more 1 TB HDD and another 4gb 1600 ram!

My budget Rs 3000 (~50$)- India
with a lot of reading here and there i found these worthy to be considered-
Antec vp450p, Corsair CX 430, Seasonic ECO 400W SS400BT!!

That or a cheaper Seasonic IMHO, the Antec is Seasonic made anyways.

I bought the Antec att for cheaper I guess, for a high end HTPC rig.

The PSU one of the main things I worry about when building one myself.

*edit* actually just noticed it's $65 with the rebate card, looks a pretty good deal on it.

People in the west often times don't understand the limitations placed on people in different parts of the world such as in India. I would tell you to search your local shops for the best unit within your budget.

That might apply to USA, but certainly doesn't apply to Europe where there are dozens of countries, each with their own limitations. Although those limitations are greatly reduced inside the EU, there are still big differences within the EU and between the EU and the rest of Europe.

bro this is what came up with research... they all fit in budget but i cant choose best from them!!
Some reviews says Antec is best (p version), some say Seasonic nd some say CX......:colbert:

Well of those available units which is available at the most reputable shop you can purchase from? That is the one I'd buy in your shoes.

VP450 is made by FSP. So it's Seasonic vs Channel Well vs Fortron.

I would get the Seasonic, pretty sure it uses the best caps and fan. But the Antec and Corsair are also decent enough. So if you don't like a grey psu, get the Antec. And if you want sleeved cables too, get the Corsair.

I'd expect Seasonic ECO to use second tier capacitors instead of Seasonic's "trade mark" Japanese Nippon Chemi-Con caps. It's just so cheap compared to Seasonic S12II of equal wattage rating. But in terms of reliability and electrical performance, it's probably very good. I'd place VP450 above CX430 in quality, but CX430 wins in efficiency and warranty length.

VP450 or VP450p??? coz non-p version is discontinued i guess and 'p' one is better!!

The VP450 is not discontinued, not that I can tell. The VP450 and VP450P are essentially identical. I don't know why they have two SKU's that are so identical.

Yeah I know most of that, I'd still go with a Seasonic myself then as was stated over a CX, even if I overlooked the India part, sorry.

The one I'd listed was Seasonic, but my bad.

I've seen on a few forums lately people having problems with the CX's myself.

No, there is something wrong with that. If you select 7790 instead of R7 260X it shows 350W. R7 260X is the same card as 7790, just clocked a bit higher. No way that is going to use twice as much.

Wow, that calculator is truly horrible. I put in the components mentioned in your OP, it gave me 755W as the minimum requirement, when in truth you will be absolutely fine with a CX430. EDIT: What coffeejunkee said.

If I put in my setup which has a considerably more power hungry graphics card and several more hard drives, newegg recommends 646W. While that's somewhat reasonable (I am in fact I'm using a 650W unit), it makes no sense relative to the 755W recommendation for your components.

TL;DR don't use calculators, calculate it yourself :p
