HELP!!! im so dead.

well. i have a dell desktop 2400 and i liked the system
but last night i was putting it in a different case so i would have more room, i had to take the cpu out to get it apart. and i had difficultys getting it back on. once i managed to get it back on
the computer wont start now.
it powers up. nothing on the monitor. and since its a dell the 4 status lights. only one comes on
and no beeps whatso ever

Specs:
Dell Dimension Desktop 2400
2.2 ghz Pentium 4 (aeerrggghh)
512 ram
180gb hard drive space
1 100 and 1 80
Dvd Dual layer burner
Cd Burner
6 fans. (cool neon)

Did you damage any of the pins on the CPU?

Even if you did kill the CPU it wouldn't cost much to get a new one that'd be slightly faster.

Welcome to AT.

You had to take the CPU off the motherboard or just the heatsink?

wow, quick responce. i had to take the heatsink off but i accidently pulled both off. i broke i think 1 or 2 pins. so i think im pretty much screwed. my monster has finally died. its only caught on fire once. but still.. i think its time for a new computer.

Yeah, if pins are broken off, you're pretty screwed.

Good excuse to upgrade I guess ;)

heh. i hated the motherboard anyways. ima go buy a amd motherboard. cause my current one is a intel and it doesnt have a AGP slot. which really pissed me off.

Yeah, unless you have an AGP card now, you should go with a PCI-e board.
