i've searched for hours and i came up with only a coup'la leads. does anyone here know who the original artist was who popularized the phrase with his art, or can anyone point to links that might bear fruit? any help greatly appreciated....thx twx2

The "Keep on Truckin'" phrase was not invented on the simpsons. It was actually the brainchild of underground cartoonist Robert Crumb, who was popular during the counterculture movement of the 1970s. Hes kind of a bitter man, and has since disowned that cartoon. Hope this helps.

I spent many hours reading the works of R. Crumb in Zap comics and others. He was a cartoonist in the style of Bill Griffith (who draws Zippy) in that he would put himself in the story.
