Help, I'm feeling dehydrated despite drinking lots of fluid

I mentioned this in another thread but would like to give it it's own topic.

Here's the rundown:

1. I have bronchitis
2. Started drinking more fluids (juice, water)
3. Despite drinking more I'm feeling even thirstier
4. Mouth is constantly dry, lips are starting to get dry and cracked

I tried drinking gatorade which helps out, but once the gatorade is gone, I'm constantly thirsty again. It could be the fact that I have'nt really eaten much food in almost a week has bought this on. I'm trying to eat a little more, but it's hard because I have 0 appetite.

just wanted to say, interesting post count.

And as to your problem, i would say drink more fluids, try and eat some. If it is like this by tonight, contact your doctor or something of that sort.

Might be more than the bronch. Are you running a fever? Sounds like you're in need of some salt/zinc. Get you some Pedialyte, Gatorade is sugar loaded crap.

Should have mentioned I'm a type 2 diabetic, but my blood glucose is under control.

Guy i know was type II until a month ago. Was rushed into the emergency room with a blood glucose level of 750+ 😱 after being in the ICU for a week they re-diagnosed him with type I diabetes and said he may have been misdiagnosed or just developed type I over the years.

Go see your doctor.

Around the 11 minute point, Marky Mark boluses himself, but a hospital would do that for you safely as well as with sterile supplies and actual infusion equipment. During your meeting, you and your doctor should discuss things to look for that might suggest you need to goto the ER.

oops, missed more recent post. Carry on.

Have some salty brothy chicken soup early in the day, then keep drinking your water. What kind of juice are you drinking?

Do your eyes feel dry too. Excessive dry mouth and eyes is a sign sjogren's syndrom. A serious autoimmune disorder that can lead to kidney failure.

Gatorade has a lot of salt in it, that's another reason.

The sodium is supposed to help with dehydration, but they don't balance it with potassium. It can lead to dehydration, but I'm not convinced the OP is experiencing that from gatorade.

I never realy had any heath problem till last March(6ft 180lbs).... felt like I was walking in 3ft of snow all day long, pissed a lot(foamy), very dry mouth, loss of 20lbs in two weeks and vision going. Went to the Dr and found out I'm type 1 and my blood surgar was 420😱

"Diabetic hyperosmolar syndrome. If your blood sugar level tops 600 milligrams per deciliter (mg/dL), or 33 millimoles per liter (mmol/L), the condition is known as diabetic hyperosmolar syndrome. When your blood sugar gets this high, your blood becomes thick and syrupy. The excess sugar passes from your blood into your urine, which triggers a filtering process that draws tremendous amounts of fluid from your body. Left untreated, diabetic hyperosmolar syndrome can cause life-threatening dehydration and coma. Diabetic hyperosmolar syndrome is most common in middle-aged and older adults who have type 2 diabetes."

Your friend is lucky as hell.... I think 600+ is coma territory.

When he got to the ICU they said he was about an hour from slipping into a coma he had a doctors appointment for the next day, but when we found him that morning he wasn't thinking clearly, he kept talking about going out to dinner (it was 8AM) at that point we realized he didn't know what was really going on and we took him to the emergency room.
