Just installed my board (IC7-G), PSU (Antec TrueBlue 480), Mem (Kingston DDR400 ECC CL3 2 X 512MB), Video card (Sapphire Atlantis 9700 Pro).

System powers up fine, tests RAM okay, indentifies CPU as Pentium 4 1.5 Ghz @ 100 Mhz FSB and locks. Won't seek floppy. Unplugged everything but floppy and video card, cleared CMOS, same results.

Any ideas?

set the memory to 1:1 and timings to SPD, then NorthBridge Strap to 800FSB, and set FSB to 200MHz manually if you have to.

Try 1 stick of ram (not dual channel) to see if you can get into the BIOS. Unplug the floppy too...

I unplugged everything except fans and power connecters and bingo, it posted just fine, fixed BIOS settings.

Connected floppy, still post okay, then proceed to start flash 1.1. However, either floppy disk was bad or drive defective (think it was disk) During flash it locked up with random floppy drive seeking noises. Had to power off.

Now, no post, no error beep and northbridge fan does not move. Green LED comes on when PSU is turned on, turns red when power switch comes on. Power LED on case comes on, but Green LED turns amber.

Tried clearing CMOS a few times, unplugging etc, but it appears to be stuck...

BIOS dead? Board Dead? RMA time?

Sounds like a bad bios flash... unplug the system for about 5 min., plug it back in, hold the "INSERT" key and power it on. If it doesn't power on using this method, you might have to rma the board...

Board appeared to be completely dead - tried it with just PSU, no fans, no error code.

RMA to newegg.com - IC7-G is out of stock, so I'm getting a Gigabyte instead...newegg charged no restocking since I reordered from them.

PS. board was dead, got Gigabyte today, came right up with same CPU, RAM, PSU etc.

BIOS flash freeze must have killed it.
