Help! I think I just lost 80GB!

I tried double clicking on a file on my external HD and windows media player says it can't read the format. I then try running scandisk and it says that it can't get access to the drive. Then I opened up explorer again and it said there were no files on the drive! How do I recover all my stuff? It was an NTFS drive...


Update:
I bought SpinRite and ran it on my drive and it was able to recover all of my data! I HIGHLY recomend this product!
