HELP, I need to change all file to JPG

I have several thousand file in a folder, I am using XP pro. I would like to know how to change them to .jpg so I can view them as thumbs and open the in Pic edit prog. I am sure there is a way to do this, I dont want to have to do them one at a time

You could go to command line and put in:

ren *.* *.jpg and it will append the .jpg ending to them....

But I REALLY don't think that this is something you want to do.

depends on the original format of the files, but painshop pro can do batch conversions, you just point it at the files you want to convert and tell it what you want to convert them to and where to put the new files, then set it going... easy..

PSP can do it - my old reliable HiJaak Pro 5.X can do it - and I suppose most graphics handling programs can do it. But, it is not necessary to only have JPG show in thumbnails. That is sort of wierd.

A free alternative is Irfanview, which also handles batch processing.

or as it looks like it's for a one off item, just use the psp trial version...
