I never used to have a spam problem, but starting at about the beginning of the year I started getting some and it's increased ever since. now, I get so much that I often accidentally delete non-spam messages because they're mixed in with so much spam...so it's a big problem now.
it's mostly the thousands of different variations of all that prescription meds and penis enlargement stuff.

I use OE 5.5, and at first I thought I could just do message rules to block that stuff...but the spam comes from random email address and has too many random spellings of stuff in it that's designed to thwart efforts to block it

first of all, are there any good solutions besides getting a new email address? tons of people have my current address, so I don't really want to have to do that

if not, let me know all the tricks you use for avoiding spam

For one, if the email you have right there ^ (NOwaterbotSPAM@omsoft.com) is your main box, certain bots may be finding this email by browsing forums such as this and adding it to a database. That's why people don't like to spell out their emails exactly.

IE people may put their email in the form I used above or do something like waterbotATomsoftDOTcom.

aren't bots smart enough to decipher those tricks though?
