Ok, my brat kid swapped the sugar for salt this morning and I gotta get him back, please share with me some funny desktop pranks I can have waiting for him when he gets home from school. 😀

More info,he's 15 and good with computers so these need to be really clever

<--- carefully checking my shampoo to make sure there haven't been any other substitutions 🙂

Not sure how to do this, but it must be possible to make the computer load up pr0n pages at random intervals

LMAO!

my favorite is a classic. Take a snapshot of the desktop, move the icons, the start bar, etc. Now use the snapshot as the background.

What OS does he use?

A really simple one that he may already know: put the task bar on 'Auto Hide' and then move it to the side.

hm.. the page doesnt seem to be working so i'll just type one out.. open a dos prompt and change to c:\windows\desktop then create a folder by typing "md folder name" (w/o quotes) replacing folder name with something to your liking that has at least one space in the name... instead of using the space bar in between folder and name, hold alt and press 255 on the keypad... this creates an ASCII space instead, which windows doesnt know how to handle properly so it displays as a _ and gives you an error message saying it doesnt exist when you try clicking on it. since it doesnt exist according to windows, you cant delete it either!😀 fill up his desktop with a couple of those and he should have fun trying to get rid of them... unless of course he knows the trick of deleting them by going back into a dos prompt and typing "rd folder name" (with alt 255 as the space of course)

oh yeah heres another fun one... (copied from a now dead link from littlewhitedog.com that i resurrected from my history 🙂)

Open up the mouse applet from the control panel.
Under the "button" tab, set the slider for Double-Click speed all the way to the right.
While you're in there, change the mouse buttons around for an extra kick.
Click "OK" and you're all set.

part2:
This little item comes in really handy when you change the mouse double click speed because the first place the user is going to go to fix the problem is the Control Panel right? Well, now we are going to remove the mouse applet (and other applets) from the control panel since most people won't know where else to launch them from.

Click "Start", then "Run"
Type in "Control.ini"
Towards the top, you should see a section header titled "[don't load]"
Under that section type in "Main.cpl=no"
Save the control.ini file
To see the changes that were made, you can either exit out of control panel and open it again or you can hit "F5" a few times to refresh it.
NOTE: Adding "Main.cpl=no" to the control.ini also removes the Keyboard, Fonts, and Printers applet from the Control Panel.

If you want to remove only select items from the Control Panel, I have taken the liberty of listing them below and what line must be put in the "[don't load]" section of the control.ini file. Enjoy.

Line In The Control.ini What Applet(s) Will Be Removed
"Desk.cpl=no" Display
"Modem.cpl=no" Modem
"Mmsys.cpl=no" Multimedia and Sounds
"Netcpl.cpl=no" Network
"Main.cpl=no" Keyboard, Mouse, Fonts, and Printers
"Appwiz.cpl=no" Add/Remove Programs
"Sysdm.cpl=no" Add New Hardware and System
"Password.cpl=no" Add/Remove Programs
"Joy.cpl=no" Game Controllers
"Timedate.cpl=no" Date/Time
"Odbccp32.cpl=no" ODBC Data Sources

enjoy 🙂

hey here a simple and fun one:

take a screenshot of your current desktop in the same resolution and save it as his wallpaper. then minimize the taskbar (not autohide, just lower it and move it off to the side) and select option to hide all the icons.

edit: not sure about your kid, but it works better with drunk ppl 😀
