Guys, I dont think he needs to put that much into it. Depending on the os you want to run XP hopefully, you should get 512 ddr but you dont really need anymore than like 2700 speeds. Obviously you dont want to overclock it because you want stability. If you are going to run a 333 mhz bus then you need to probably get a thoroughbred which you can get a good 1700 tbred for pretty cheap too. Especially if you sell that 1600. Obviously you could get an expensive board but you really dont have to you can get a epox 8k3a (awesome board) and run that 333 mhz bus all day long and be solid. You can get a cheap hsf that will cool it sufficiently from the fs forums and save a ton of money. As a matter of fact you could get your ram from there and the mobo from there. I would buy the cpu from someone like newegg tho just because the tbreds are new and you are gonna be hard pressed to get one from the fs forums. I wouldnt suggest you do too much else. I would think you would be in the $250 range if you did that. You figure you could probably get the ram for like 130 or so, the processor for like 65 or 75, and the mobo probably for like 60. That is my suggestion... hope i helped. OH btw, the 8k3a has awesome 6 channel sound so you dont need a sound card. Just a lil hint..
