Help! I need a desktop rig and I'm an idiot

Hi all.

I'm looking at getting a good desktop for some pc gaming. Preferably something that could handle Starcraft 2 on at least medium settings in the 500-800 dollar range give or take a bit. I don't know a whole lot about pc hardware and was hoping I could get some input from the community.

MY 2 cents: Check here for a Dell Studio XPS 7100, a more value-oriented gaming capable desktop. Going for the "AMD Phenom™ II X4 820 + ATI Radeon HD 5770 1GB" upgrade should bring the system cost to $730.

First things first, are you looking for parts to be put together? Or a pre-built that would fit your needs?

Im looking for a pre-built. I've checked out some of the setups on ibuypower.com but they're a little pricey for me

If you want prebuilt, IMHO you can't beat the new Studio XPS 7100/8100/9100's like Bamacre posted.
