well, i got a new hard disk, and i partitioned it with fdisk. its a 60 gig drive, so i partitioned it 5 gigs for win2k and 55 gigs for storage/data. 5 gig is my primary and is in ntfs format, but my 55 gig is my extended logical and is in dos format? dos does not recognize it and neither does windows...i need to use it. pls help. any help would be appreciated!

thanks :D

Remember that it has to be formatted. If the drive has a letter under windows and you can't use it jut right click the drive and format it.

If the drive isn't lettered at all and you're sure that there is actually a logical drive with the extended partition I have no idea how to help.

thanks for your thoughts. but no, windows has no driver letter for it and neither does dos. my c drive is the win2k drive and so i was expecting my other drive to be d drive, but when i ask to format that it tells me it cannot format a network drive. *yanks hair out of head* what to do. i need the extra space! :D
