Hey all, whenever I have problems, the solutions always seem to come from here.

I don't want this topic to be, You shoulda bought this, or that...... just try and help please.

I have a small 4 PC network and I have just bought a linksys 2 port switched print server (EFSP42 ver 2.5)

I have a Linksys 4 port DSL router running DHCP (BEFSR41 v2 if it matters...)

For some reason, I have the 2 switches together, I can get to the internet (Im plugged into the print server 4 port with the uplink to the DSL router) just fine, but I can't "see" the print server.

I try in linksys's "Great" (hahahaha) directions to assign an IP to the print server and for some reason it says "the print server is not connected, (which it is) or its not in the same subnet mask (which I know what my subnet mask is and its set correctly)

I'm not a "pro" nor a dummy when it comes to networks. I understand things fairly well.

However, I know this is long winded, but I want to know if anyone else has had this problem and how they fixed it. (throwing off a bridge doesn't count either. lol)

Thanks in advance for your help.

what have you done so far??

Linksys should have included 2 software in the CD, one is the regular print server, the other is for admin use.

Did you use the admin program to set up your print server?

I had a similar problem.
You need to install the Bi-Admin tool from the CD.

In that tool, it will scan for your Printserver, once it finds it, highlight it then click on Configuration/TCPIP.
From there you can setup the Printserver.

Having exactly the same problem bruzbros. Now, does this mean that one should un-install the regular print server and stick with the Bi-Admin tool exclusively? Will give that a try and see what happens...
