ok, i was playing UT and it froze on me. So i was like whatever and my computer had to reboot, when it was rebooting i said what the hay and decided to try some ocing. so i go the the frequency and voltage setting in my MSI k7t pro2-a. and i change the fsb to the full extent from 110 to 132, and i left the multiplier at 10. the original is 1000mhz at 10x100. after i had changed the settings and saved my computer i rebooted. it turns on but my monitor doesnt. on the leds on the mobo it specifies that the cpu is initializing....is my cpu dead? how do i fix this?

theres multiple ways to reset your bios, one way is to shut off all power going into your pc, then take out the battery for a few hours (overnight to be sure) and the bios should reset.

your motherboard should also have jumpers you can switch to reset the bios, that should be in the manual.

First powerdown the system completely and try to boot again. Most BIOS' will default back to their original settings after a failed POST due to incorrect BIOS settings. If that doesn't work, find in your manual where the CMOS jumper is. This is usually a plastic piece that slides down two small metal pins; it should be close to a flat silver looking Ni-cad battery. When you short the CMOS, it will clear and reset back to the defaults. If this still doesn't work, you might try removing the battery for a few minutes entirely.

taking out the battery wont hurt anything right? all i will have to do is put it back and reset the settings the i want and set the clock once i go into windows..am i wrong? ill check in the manual first, thanks d00d for the help...i really appreciate it!

ST4RCUTTER: i tried the restart thing a million times, thats the only way i knew how to fix this prob, but when it didnt fix it thats when i started to panic, thanks for the info on the cmos!
