i forgot the bios password of my old pc. the mainboard is: ASUS Mainboard PII-XP55T2P4
how to remove it?

Clearing the CMOS should work...

how to clear? i cannot goto the CMOS setting and DOS....

how to clear? i cannot goto the CMOS setting and DOS....

There should be a jumper setting on your motherboard to clear it...check the manual...

If you can't find such a jumper (it's usually near the bettery) then just unplug the machine, remove the battery, and then wait about 30 minutes.

BIOS password = weak security without physical security.

thanks! i have removed the bios password now. but....the pc speed is very slow and always freeze. why?!

Resettting the CMOS also loses setting such as what type of CPU your system has. It probably defaulted to a slow setting to ensure a good bootup. Go back into the BIOS and make sure the proper CPU type is selected.

What bios do you have, Ami, pheonix or?. There are backdoor passwords out there that work, I have have used a couple.

remove CMOS battery on MOBO, wait 15 minutes, replace.

Look on sgsecurity.com for BIOS password crackers.

look online for FREE BIOS Password crackers.
