Help, how do i mount my motherboard correctly?

I have an Asus P4s333 and i have........no idea how these mounting stuff goes, like i have

2 types of screws one long one, one short and a little red round disc shape thing with a hole in the middle and a gold colored thing with a place for a screw to go in the top of it and on the oppoiste end it has a small screw head for it to screw into something and a white thing that looks like those black fan mount things
what goes like in first, etc? am i right if i think the gold thing goes on first with a red disc thing under it screw the little end into the case, and then sit the motherboard on top of that and use the small screw to screw into it? any online place with pictures to help me out?

i know this should prolly be in another forum but i get no help from them.

RTFM? as in read the f- manual? i have no manual with my case there bub, and it says in my motherboard manual to hook it up with washers, etc but it doesn't show how.

Brass stand-offs (hex I think) are screwed into the motherboard mounting plate, approximating the mounting holes in your motherboard. Then mount the motherboard inside your case onto the brass stand-offs. Take the silver hex head or philips bit screws (either one usually will work), put a felt washer on them, and secure your motherboard from the top by screwing them into the brass stand-off. You usually only need two or three of these silver screws, you don't need to put a screw into every brass stand-off.

Unless you have one of those motherboard mounting plates with the raised mounting points, in that case then you don't need any brass stand-offs, you just mount the motherboard on those raised points and secure it using a couple silver screws/felt washers.

i have the asus p4s333 also, didn't remember having problems mounting it on a case though, i got the chieftech case from newegg

First get a few drinks into her, then throw out some random compliment like "you have the most beautiful eyes", then some light kissing, then you slowly....oh you said mount a motherboard. My bad.....

Whatever you do, DON'T USE the brass stand-offs. Screw that board directly to the metal back plate of the case. Then plug in the power and switch her on a few times.








































After you've fried your motherboard try to RTFM.

You wouldn't even believe how many customers I have that actually do that though, it's very sad.

you guys that keep telling to READ THE FVCKING MANUAL ARE STARTIN TO PISS ME OFF!!!, I only have my asus p4s333 manual and it just shows a ref of what to do, it says to screw in the washers and sit the mothboard on top, what i did so far is put in the brass things on the case and sit the motherboard on top of those lined em up and took the screws and put a washer on them and then screwed them into the brass things underneath the motherboard, is this correct way to do it? what are these White mount things, they look like fan mount things cept they are white instead of black.

Those are plastic standoffs. I usually use those on the memory side of the board. The metal ones next to the expansion slots.
