Help hooking up Dell PowerVault MD1000 to my PowerEdge 1950

Hello everyone,

I have a Dell 1950 and 2950 that I use to test 2.5" and 3.5" drives. I'm going to sell my 2950 and test the 3.5" via a MD1000 that arrives today.

I'm looking to see how I hook it up (what do I need, etc). I already have a perc 6 installed, but I need to know what cords/etc. I'll need so I can set it up right when it lands today via UPS.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Md1000s are sff-8470. If you have a perc 6/e it'll be 8470 as well. So you'll need 1 or 2 of those depending on how many channels you need.

I have the SFF-8470, but it looks to be male/male. Do I need an adapter to hook it up to the 1950?

Thanks! Waiting for the MD1000 to land.

The ports should be female, the cable should be male/male. I'm not aware of any sas port standards where gender could be changed around.
