HELP HELP SEAGATE BARRACUDA DRIVE SATA HARD DRIVE

My 500GB Seagate Barracuda 7200.1 Firmware 3.AFE drive has died and I was wondering if anyone was interested in trying to switch circuit boards as I've heard it could possibly fix the problem. If there are any brave souls out there e-mail me at jroe5454@gmail.com. I'm willing to pay someone to help me with this. The drive doesn't necessarily have to be an internal barracuda, I believe that external 500GB seagates contain the same drive. So if anyone has a dead hard drive with similar firmware or one that is just similar to what I have said here please help me out, this hard drive is my life. Doing this will not void any warranty, i have over 50,000 mp3s on this drive and really need some help. Thanks a lot.

I imagine that most folks with a defective 500GB drive have RMA'd it

I found at least one used, working 7200.10 on Ebay, but it was IDE. Of course, these drives are so cheap now, it's painless to buy a new one, as long as you can determine the firmware before puchasing it.

These series of drives can also have a stuck motor issue. So swapping out the board may or may not resolve the issue.
