HELP HELP, I Shift + Deleted and a lot of files gone, I need them back asap

******, I thought I had only 4 files selected to delete so I pressed Shift + delete and I had some crucial folders gone (for some reason the 4 files I highlighted were only highlighted but it deleted 3 other CRUCIAL folders (Family pics and stuff) how can I get them back?!?! 🙁 🙁

BTW its on Windows XP home

Edit - its about 3 gb of stuff, home camera pics, and assignments + some musics,,, 🙁

Don't use your computer for anything that may write data to the hard drive. Download a undelete program. DON'T download it to the same drive as the deleted files. Instead, use another computer and download it onto a flash drive or put it on a CD drive. And install it (if needed) onto a different drive.

If not, time to download a file recovery tool + crack ... or buy it for $200 to use once :boggle;

Use Resoration. Free and easy. It's saved my ass a few times.

NTFS is pretty robust as far as file recovery, you shouldn't worry too much about it.

There are lots of free trials out there, getdataback, etc.

ok Im going to shut down my main pc (the files were on my Desktop on my Main pc) and take the HD out and put it into an external casing ready for my Laptop for when I get the software....
