I need help.....

My friend owns a Daycare and has several Emachine 500is computers. We bought them a few years ago on closeout from an online company which is with us no more. The computers came with 2 copies of a Recovery CD. Now when we need the CD neither are readable. I tried contacting Emachine but that was a complete bust. The computers work great for the toddler games they use so I don't want to have to replace them because of a bad CD.

Any ideas on how I can go about getting a Recovery CD?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

I would just grab a standard windows cd, format the drive and install fresh. No need to use their recovery cd. If you want, once you get it setup nicely you could even make an image with Ghost, and use that to make your own recovery disc.

(scorpmatt) Only one machine died. (FOR NOW)

(LeiZaK) Which Forum would you suggest?

(Zee) I have reformatted the new HD I installed but the idea of paying more money for a copy of Windows 98 for each computer kills the reason we got the Emachines.

(dquan97) I don't believe so (just close), the E-machines are actually model 500ix but the CDs say for model 500is.

(orakle22) That's the plan if I can't find a recovery CD. But I believe from a legal standpoint I would only be able to use the Ghost CD on one computer. So if any more go down I would need to buy a copy of Win98 for each.
