[HELP] HD 2600 PRO Adobe Flash Player 10.1 Fix?

A simple and direct question: At the end, someone found a fix for the Flash Player hardware acceleration issue in this card? I wanted to buy the Visiontek HD 2600 PRO AGP to be able to watch HD content from YouTube, but now I'm not sure. Please help me!!!

The only "fix" I know of is to stick with Catalyst 9.11 or older. I am not sold on the stability of the Catalyst 10.x drivers for the AGP version anyways.

That means that I will be able to play at least a 720p video from YouTube? I'm not a gamer, I'm a programmer, but I'd like to watch HD videos.

Edit: What about Catalyst 10.9? Does it solve something?

Guys, I'm also plaining to buy a XFX GEFORCE 8600GT 512MB DDR2 AGP, this card has the same problems than the HD 2600 PRO? Which is better? Please help, I'm out of time!

There is no GeForce 8600GT in AGP. Only PCI-E. The last NVIDIA graphics cards offered in AGP were GeForce 7 Series.

Are you sure of that? Because someone is selling one at the same price that the HD 2600 PRO, and also i found this picture:

Please help me, I just want to play HD content without problems. The 8600GT has the same problem with Flash Player 10.1 and HD videos in YouTube???

H.264 in Flash 10.1 won't work with a 2600 Pro.

Per adobe:

AMD/ATI hardware decoding of H.264 video in Flash Player 10.1 is supported on AMD/ATI products with UVD2 with the ATI Catalyst™ Software Suite, starting with version 9.11 for the ATI Radeon™ family of products, and driver release 8.68 for the ATI FirePro™ family of products. Supported GPUs include: Radeon HD 4xxx and higher; Mobility Radeon HD 4xxx series and higher; Radeon HD 3xxx and higher; FirePro V3750, FirePro V7750, FirePro V8700, and FirePro V8750 and higher

So, the 8600GT doesn't work either? In that case, which would you think will perfom better in general? <-- (FORGET WHAT I SAID)

Edit: Sorry, I had a little lapsus, definetely the 8600GT is supported but I don't know if it only work with the PCI-E version. Can you tell me if the AGP version can run Flash Player 10.1 as well? Or it's irrelevant?

Far as I know, 8600 GT wasn't made in an AGP version.

Yes. Look for ATI Radeon HD 4xxx series (e.g. 4350, 4550, or 4650). They came in AGP versions.

You're wrong, did you see the image I just post? There is indeed a AGP version of the 8600GT, i just want to know if I can play flash player 10.1 as well as the PCI-E version.

I don't want to spend a lot of money in a video card, like a said before, I'm not a hardcore crazy gamer, In fact the only games that entertain me are casual games like ZUMA, PEGGLE or LUXOR, but I do like HD videos.

Edit: Also my other components are pretty low (450W PSU, Pentium 4 2.53GHz). If I purchase something more demanding probably it will melt my whole system, and that's not what I want, I just need a good card that runs well with my needs without dying in trying.

Fine, because you found an image on the internet you're right. Buy it and let us know how that works out for ya..

Dude I'm just asking if the card is better than the HD 2600 PRO, if you don't know the answer then there is no need to be sarcastic.

That picture's from a scam...

http://forums.nvidia.com/lofiversion/index.php?t85127.html

Rebadged geforce2 sold as AGP 8600GT.

But please... continue to insist that everyone is wrong. Buy it and enjoy.

Thank's a lot for the information, but please, don't get me wrong, I am very grateful for your support and for taking the time to come by here to help. That was my mistake and I accept it. Now I'll be looking for those card you showed me.

OK I need help again, what about this card?: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150433

You think my PC can handle it? Cuz I found one in a very good price. Please answer.

Edit: Just in case, my PSU is an OMEGA model 450 ATX (450W), CPU Intel Pentium 4 2.53GHz (19 x 133), Kingston 2GB PC3200 DDR SDRAM. If you need more information just let me know.
