HELP! Has anyone been to a small claims court trial??

I will be going to a small claims court in a few days for a lawsuit (car accident, I'm suing another person for damages). Can anyone tell me the format of the proceeding (Does the plaintiff get to cross examine the defendent? are there rebuttals? etc.)? I've researched a lot online but no source has answered the specifics of a trial format. Thanks for any help!

Hehe,
from what I've observed on TV...
You are not allowed to speak except to the judge him/herself.
Always be respectful (it makes a stronger case)
For the love of god, bring /submit solid evidence. Hearsay can only go so far.

Mind you this is only from watching TV small claims court.
Hope this helps.
