Help: Halo PC deadlocks

I'm on the Truth and Reconciliation level; however, no matter what I do the level deadlocks. This happens sometimes a minute into the level other times 5 minutes. By deadlock I mean that I loose control and the sound enters some sort of loop. Anyways, I have tried all I can think of (short of a fresh install of windows), ie clean driver install, multiple versions of the drivers, un-installing/re-installing the game, and playing with the driver setttings and the in-game video settings. Any help you can offer would be appreciate. My system specs are:

PIII 933MHz
128 MB Ram
40GB HD
Win98SE
9600 Pro (w/ Cat 3.8 drivers currently)

If I've forgotten anything, please let me know.

Thanks

I know this happened with the the 1.5 BETA of Halo. If it is the full version, call Bungie and I am sure they will be able to help you out.

You need more RAM, and I don't mean just for Halo. You ought to be able to pick up a 128 or 256 stick from BB or whatever for $20 or so after rebate. Other than that, set all you setting for performance, turn off all AA/AF, and close all other programs. If that still doesn't work you need to talk to tech support.
