Ok, for the longest time i have been having this bad luck with CD-Drives. I usualy go through 2-3 each year or two, and im afraid im gona have to again. The problem im having is that each time i put a cd into my Creative DVD it just spits it out. To get it to actualy accept it, i usualy have to try about 4 times and sometimes 10 time. I dont know what causes this, i onnnnly had this drive for 6 months (about as long as i have been able to hold onto a drive) Sometimes i leave CDs in the drive for long periods of time, but that shouldnt be a problem since my dad leaves his for even longer and his ahs lasted 2 years! and still kicking. Another thing i wonder is can my drive be dirty? I usualy wipe my disk off before i use them each time just incase they had some dirt on them, but can it be my lens are dirty? if what is a good lens cleaner i can buy, i have one right now but i swear it never works. I just dont want to find my drive has already died on me again. So if anyone knows whats going and how to fix it that be great! Thanks.

OK, first the problems that i have had, my first one actualy last me a year or so and just wont stop reading, then i got another one that would then just stop reading, same thing for the next one. This one hasnt stoped reading though, it just wants to be stuborn reading disks (it does to all my disk). The powersupply you said? Hmmm... i just dunno, i have a Antec 300w that came with my case so i dont realy beleive could the problem? And for the last question, i dont recall what a ASPI is. I know if, as in knew what it was once but now just know its there.

PS: Ok now i think about ive gone through 5 CD-roms in the 5-6 years ive had been playing with computers. I just thinks thats to many CD-roms to go and dont want to add another one to my list. Oh yhea i also have a Iomega CD-RW ZIP-CD that hasnt given me one bit of trouble, and i had it just as long as the DVD-ROM, but just dont use it as much.

Ok, i went out and bough a cd lens cleaner to see if that would help. Well it seems to have helped. After using it i havent had a disk rejected. So if this is the problem then i probably should clean the CD-rom a little more ofter.
