HELP! Giants locks ups during first scripted sequence at the beginning of the game!

I've tried a fw resolutions and graphic options but to no avail. Is there anyone else that is having this problem? If so, how was it corrected? I'm using the 7072 drivers for my Radeon 64DDR and DX8. I can still here the music afterthe screen locks up but I have to reset out of the game. I will install the patch and try again to see if the helps. Also I was running it in T&L HAL. Thanks inadvance!
