Help getting X6800 STABLE

Looking for a little help getting this X6800 to at least 3.4 stable.

I can boot into windows ok with it running at 11x310 (3410) but fails the stress test after about an hour.I even tried lowering the multiplier to 10 and running it a few ways like that with no luck either.

All my overclocking options in the BIOS are set manually and not on auto.
PCI freq set to 100mhz
System mem multiplier at 2.0
And I also disabled my USB legacy detect.

I?ve gone ahead and added +.1v to the DIMMS in the BIOS, and +.1v to the MCH like someone already suggested.Still no luck with that.

I didn?t touch the Vcore because temps were a little bit of an issue (which I hope to have cleared up now after reseating my HSF)

What else can I do to try to run this stable?
I?m open for any suggestions right now to try.

Specs are listen in my sig (anything else you need let me know)

I have been hearing that the 965 chipset mobos have not been performing well with the Conroes(6600,6700,X6800). Hence I went with the E6600 and the P5WDH.I don't know how far this is true though.
 
im going to try to run the stress test again and see what error it gives me the funny thing my pc still seems to run fine after the stress test stops ill look into moving up the volts to 2.1 but i have heard so many people say i should get to 3.4 without trying but i have move up alot already im almost at the point to where i dont think it can be oc.

That's looks so sorry in your sig. I mean the CPU is uber, but that 2.9 just doesn't hold up.

Also, what's the deal with the hightened FSB you're OCing with? Thought the X6800 CPUs were multiplier free?
 
Ok you think i shoukd go to a 12 Multiplier and leave my FSB at the stock 266 for starters and see what happens?
 
Thank you for your help i'll keep you posted on what happens. Its been running for 45 mins now and its going good so far and my temps are at about 54C

That's good. If it's not stable move the CPU voltage up a bit and try again. Keep doing this until it's stable.
 
Ok thanks guys i think i'm getting some where here 5 and 1/2 hours into it and everything still looks good now would the best bet would be to move my FSB up to about 20mhz or is that to much? i'm at the stock 266mhz at a 12 multiplier. the only thing is my temps are at about 57C is this to high?

it's normal for the stock cooling system if that's what you're using
 
Your room temps of 80+ are why your running so hot.

Cool your room down some and you will see your processor temps drop.
 
It doesn't seem to be that high. It's a 6800 with 4MB cache at 3.2GHz. You could try to improve your airflow in your house if you haven't already or consider water / gas cooling. Personally I wouldn't bother with the special cooling, then again I also don't have a 6800, hehe.
