Help: Getting WPA to work in Fedora Core 5

Anyone have any experience with this? I sure wish this were easier. I first tried to stick only with the Linux driver, firmware, and wpa_supplicant. But, couldn't get it to work. So, I was going to give up and go back to Linuxant's Driverloader. It's similar to ndiswrapper but easier to use. I had this working in FC4 with WPA. But, can't get it to work in FC5. I can add the device in Network Manager. I can see all the APs when I do a iwlist -scan. I can see my AP in iwlassistant (but this doesn't use WPA). I am getting errors when I type "service wpa_supplicant start". It tells me the device "iwlan0" cannot be found. Any help would be appreciated.

Well, maybe this is part of the problem. After doing ifconfig -a, it is telling me that eth1 is Ethernet. This should be wireless.

Mavtech, does eth1's MAC address match your wireless NIC? Just making sure it's what you think it is. Maybe it is coming up as eth1. My prism54 and my Orinoco Gold both come up as ethn.

wpa_supplicant's -i option should solve that part of your problem. Make sure you're using the right -D option too.
