Help getting back into the swing of things...

Hey guys, I've actually been out of the loop for a while. When my heard changed to OGR without me knowing, I kinda lost interest in the whole thing!

Anywho, while testing my Duron overclock (thanks for the unlocked CPU Russ!) I loaded RC5. When I saw the 3.2mkeys, I wondered how TA was doing. Well, now I've got the bug again! 🙂

Well, I want to get cracking again, and I was wondering if there have been any changes on how things work around here? Is there anything that I should change in my .ini file? Is the main focus still on RC5? Or is OGR taking over?

Anyway, just wanted to poke my head in... I'll try to get some of my PCs at home up and running with RC5 tonight. 🙂

Nice little crackers, they are. That puppy will munch 1000 blocks a day.🙂

To do RC5 only, you'll need to add the following line to your ini files:

[misc]
project-priority=RC5,OGR=0,DES=0,CSC=0

Welcome back!😀

Thanks for the info Russ! (and for that sweet CPU!)

How about more advanced stuff?? I know right when my herd started fading away, there was talk about changing the buffer size and the packet settings etc...

has this been cleared up with newer versions of the client? I just want my herd to be as efficient as possible. Both for me, the TA proxies and for DNET. Any tips?

I guess I'll stick with RC5 then. Seems like its still "all the rage".

As of now, I just dloaded the most recent client. Set up the proxy to proxy80.teamanadtech.com and RC5 as the ONLY active cracker.

BTW: Props to DanC for being the first to try to re-recruit me! 🙂 Russ, you got quite a borg there! 🙂

Too bad I don't like to start out on top!
(I leave any sick comments from that line to you guys..) 😀

It would be a good idea to set your block size at 2^33. This will keep your in and out buffers much smaller, and reduce traffic at the proxy:

[rc5]
preferred-blocksize=33

Other than that, I can't think of anything that's really necessary.

Well, as of last night, I got my own personal herd up and running. Lets see:

Duron 900
Dually Celery 600
Celery 450
Celery 300
P2 333
P3 600
P3 650
P2 450
P3 733

Now lets see if I can't get some of these work machines cracking!

DPC here we come! 🙂

Welcome "home" Skaven! 😀

<Too bad I don't like to start out on top!>

Skaven,
If you are considering a mini-team then TWTA is the team for you! We are definitely not on top, but are working hard to get there! 😀

/me whacks Engineer in a pre-emptive strike to whatever smartallecky comment Engineer will make! 😉

Hehe, I LOVE this Team (Anandtech)! 😀

mini teams.. ehh??

How can I get a list of mini-teams so that I can find out their stats?
I am also interested in who is a member of which team...

I'll consider it... but I want to get my herd up and fully operational before anything else.

🙂

Thanks for the info!!

Just checked Mika's stats, looks like I did 4k+ blocks today! 🙂

Not bad considering that I haven't even started on the REAL herd.. 😀

Its good to be back...

Yep! Say good-bye to {DPC}Bitpull! 🙂

Thanks for the support guys, I'll try and get the rest of my herd on-line today.. 🙂
