I ordered a brand new model, The Galaxy S4 and the phone does not work in my apt under 4G and only 50% using wifi, and does not function hands free in my car. T-Mobile has never worked inside my apartment unless I used wifi. Unfortunately, I missed the return window (only 20 days at T-Mobile). I would like a different model phone, one that is compatible with my car, and hopefully works INSIDE my apartment. What can I do?

I am under my employer's corporate account.

How does something only work 50% using wifi? And how does T-Mobile only work with Wifi? Why would you think changing phones would solve a carrier problem?

Next time you make up a story, make it realistic. If this was true, I would blame your 2nd-teir cell provider, your "value" trim vehicle, and your neighbor for not securing his Wifi router, before the one thing in your post that has value.

T-mobile doesn't work in your apartment, but you bought a new t-mobile phone anyway?

WTF is wrong with you? Switch providers.

Sounds like you got a lemon. 20 days is the return window, but you can still exchange it for another one.

There should be no reason why a properly working GS4 won't function 100% under WiFi and operate in car mode. I have a T-Mobile GS4. As for your apartment being a dead zone, that happens.

Granted I have the s4 active so it may be different, but it has fantastic radios compared to what I'm used to. I work in a heavy industrial area and coverage is spotty, but this thing is a champ at work. Sounds like you either have a lemon which means you should be able to get a new one. But from the sounds of it you already know it's your provider. There's not a phone in existence that'll help that.

The phone should still be under warranty. I will say I get a great signal with my S4. Better than my S2 or my wife's iPhone 5 in my area.

Also note that there have been some issues with some Wifi routers. My D-Link DIR-655 would drop the connection on the S4 almost immediately until I upgraded the router's firmware. You might want to check if yours has an update available.

Wifi calling should work 100% of the time unless you have a bad router or you have interference from nearby apartments in which case change channels on your router. That's the advantage for T-Mobile at least in apartments or work locations etc... just hop on wifi. At home I never take it off wifi calling.
