HELP!!! Fuzzy text with KDS AV7FT

I just bought a KDS AV7FT and in the corners the text looks a little fuzzy. Also, just looking at the screen (reading internet articles for example) seems to give my eyes a sore! The refresh rate is set to max (85 Hz) for resolution of 1024 X 768. My video card is a Hercules 3D Prophet II MX. I've read users' opinions from this forum on this KDS model, and they seem pretty good, considering it has the SONY Trinitron tube. Is this normal, and do all flat screens do this? Should I opt for the KDS AV190 (19'' non SONY tube)? Thanks for any advice.

this is just my opinion, nvidia chipset have a very bad 2d quality, i have sony E200 with asus v7700 and use 1280 X 1024 X 32 (75 mhz) and the text looks fuzzy and the screen is not really clear, now i am at 1152 X 864 X 32 (85 mhz) and it's fine now! my the other system use 19 ctx VL950 on 1280 X 1024 X 32 (85 mhz) with matrox millenium G400 and i got a better 2d quality, the text is clear and sharp!

Try adjusting your freq. down a little(75-72Hz) and see if it helps. I just temporarily turned
mine(AV-7T)up to 85Hz at the same res and the edges did look a little bit funky, so it's back
at 75 now.

I adjusted the refresh rate as you suggested, and it didn't change much.. The text wasn't that bad. I decided to return and exchange it formthe same model, which I did this morning, and guess what? The tyext is crisp. It's as if the 1st one I had had a fog to it. Everytime I looked at a different area on the screen, it was like I had to re-focus. I guess there was something wrong with the 1st one I got.

Same problem I had with my KDS before I threw that SOB out the window. I fvcking hate KDS monitors.
