help from any wine connoisseurs

I'm buying my dad some wine for xmas, but I don't really know what kind to get him. I bought him some hundred dollar chilean wine a while ago and he liked that, but I don't really plan on spending that much this time (well maybe if its really good). Any of you wine connoisseurs have any suggestions for some good red wines that won't break the bank?

**my ignorance is excused by the factors of a) i'm still legally underage 🙁 , and b) i'm not a big wine drinker

well for a nice dessert wine get a riesling...from germany you can get a nice bottle of monchoff for around 20 bucks. For red meat you can always go with a nice shiraz also good ones for around 20 bucks. Wines do not have to be expensive as long as they taste good.

1 of each on the following

Thunderburd
Night Train
MD 20/20
irish rose

should be less than $10 combined 😉

I personally like Burgundy for red wine. Not too bitter and has a dry sweet aftertaste...

I'm still trying out the white wines, Chardonnay is pretty good...
