i threw together a crude little video of whats going on here thanks to my dv cam...as you can see its not an instant lockup as soon as any 3d is done, and it seems to try to stutter slowly forward judging by the sound (if i left it on long enough i could get to a car honking) but it seems like the moniter goes totally out of sync ...the vid is at members.aol.com/tigerwvuz32/crash.wmv

What PCI slot is your Audigy 2 in? You might double-check in your motherboard BIOS to make sure the onboard MIDI, onboard gameport and onboard audio are disabled, so they don't arm-wrestle with the Audigy 2.

Is your Audigy 2 a platimum? I had that problem until I unpluged the front panel audio control, then I installed audigy drivers, updated audigy drivers, then pluged it back in and it works fine. It wouldn't until I updated the drivers though.

Ok, having the gameport bracket removed isn't the same as disabling it in the BIOS. Have you worked with your motherboard BIOS before, can you rummage around in there for the Integrated Peripherals section and switch off MIDI, Gameport and audio?

Alternately, try with the SoundBlaster cards removed and just the onboard audio, and if that works, I'm going to recommend switching to an Asus A7N266-VM/AA board.
