Help for Nexus 7 Android

I just received my first tablet, a Nexus 7, the other day. To visit a site, I click the Google icon and the HTTP line comes up. After putting the Nexus 7 through its paces, I have MANY sites/addys that have been automatically stored. Is there any way to delete all of those addys? I've found when going to a previously visited site it can take a second or two to run through the minutia just to reach the correct addy. I hate the idea of cluttering up the OS with things that, to me, are unnecessary.

Thanks in advance.

Chrome?

Click on the three dots on top-right corner (overflow button) -> go to "Settings" -> Select "Privacy" -> Look at the bottom of screen where it says "Clear Browsing Data" and click.

Or alternatively you can select "History" after clicking the overflow button. "Clear Browsing Data" should show up at the bottom there as well.

Thanks, Lopri, that did the trick. I can't believe I never thought about clearing history since I do that all the time on my laptops and desktops.

Just remember chrome uses one history file across ALL your devices.

If you're signed in to your Google account on all devices, that is. You have to sign in on the desktop version, and on an ipad, etc. On an android tablet, I'm pretty sure it's automatic.

Do you just have to log in, or is it log in AND opt in? I'm assuming the former because, Google.

It is under "Account" where you find variety of sync options list. Uncheck "Sync Chrome" and that should prob. do it. Likewise you don't have to use Chrome and/or don't have to sign in. At least Google let you see what they see, unlike other entities that don't tell anything to users what they're collecting or peeking.

Good question. I can't remember exactly what it looked like on my N7, it's possible they do put an opt-in, but I think it's very subtle, like you set up your Nexus with your google account, and then when you launch chrome the first time it says something like "Google Chrome will sync your information across all devices" ("OK/No"), something to that effect. It's automatically set up for being opted in, but I think they do give you one of those yellow bar questions at the bottom of the screen.
