HELP! Floppy seek when Win2k says "Starting windows" ? HELP!

Right when windows has the screen up before i type my password in, where it says preparing network connections and such, my floppy drive seeks for a half second. Is this normal? I dont remember it ever happening before...

its normal, it happens on both of my computers

If you disable the Server service, this won't occur.
Of course, if you do that, you won't have file sharing enabled, nor printer sharing.
That isn't always a problem though - you generally don't want to be sharing files anyway IMO unless you're on a LAN.

I am on a lan, i have 5 computers at my house

i believe this happens when win2k starts the network services, and is checking to see if you have a shared floppy drive.
