Basic info is all there, but here's a quick summary.

CPU: Intel Pentium 4 2425 MHz
FSB: 110 MHz (3:4 for mem)
Memory: 1024 MB
Driver Name: NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4600
Driver Version: 6.13.10.2942
Video Memory: 128 MB
3DMark Score: 6549 3D marks

I don't think my settings for the benchmark are wrong... I have nothing running when I'm doing the test (CPU usage at 0%). I switched to a P4B533-V from a P4S-645DX. The only way I can get a higher score is by "cheating" (Res to 640x480). What am I doing wrong?

Hehe, Yeah, kinda strange isn't it? Espically since you are running a CPU 2x as fast, and a Videocard which should smoke mine. Funny thing is, my card ran faster in almost all the benchmarks, I really have no idea whats wrong.

Rather unfortunate. Well.. when did you build this rig? Did you do a fresh reformat? I'm not sure how it is for intel CPUs, but your FSB looks a little low... I don't think it'll effect the score that much though.

I finished building it like, last week. The FSB is "low" because its a 2.2A at stock speeds... I have the FSB at 119 and have yet to do a bench at that speed. Hopefully it'll be better. My friend told me to turn off VSync if its on. Are there any other tweaks I should know about?

Well, i'm not sure if theres any tweaks that'll give you the 5000 extra for the 11000+ you are supposed to get. But, basically, in order to increase speed, you'd need to overclock, and lower down details. Turn off V-Sync, Anti Aliasing, Antiscropic (i'm a bad speller) Filtering.

Be sure you modify the DirectX settings, as thats what 3d Mark runs (not Open GL).

Is it a Via motherboard? If so, make sure you install the Via4n1 drivers, my scores were in the 8000s before I did, and afterwards jumped past 11000.

The thing is, I don't know what BIOS tweaks I might need to do. Anyways... here's an update. Newest INF files... DirectX 8.1... VSync off... AA Off... AF Off...
CPU @ 2640
FSB @ 120 w/ 3:4 (means Memory's running at 160x2 or 320 DDR)
Still Detonators 29.42

What should I do in the BIOS? Will a/the coolbits registry hack or whatever help? other thing is, AGP Aperature... bigger or smaller is better?

There aren't many tweaks for Video or Shadowing or whatever... all I can really do that would affect video is OCing and AGP Aperature size. Why is my Ti4600 acting like a Ti200?!?

Hey Hey! Don't diss the Ti200 now ;)

I really can't explain what AGP Aperature does, as, I'm not exactly sure (I believe using System Memory as Video Ram incase your Videocard runs out of memory), but I suggest doing a search on the forums.

Past 11000?! I got almost the same rig as yours, only I'm using XP1800+ and Geforce4 Ti4200 128mb.. the problem is I only have 7800 score with 30.82 driver... (7585 with 29.42 version)

Should I install the latest VIA 4in1 driver? Which version? I have 4.38 version right now. Any idea how to solve this one?

If you have a Gig of ram I'm assuming your using Windows 2000 or XP, right? The AGP apperature should be set to 64MB. 3DMark does seem to like 256MB though for a little bit higher score. But I wouldn't worry about breaking any records yet. What score do you get with a 100/266 setting with 2/2/2/5 timings? What brand of ram you you have? Are you using 2 512MB dimms? How does it run with only one DIMM? It doesn't really sound like a BIOS problem unless you've turned your cache off or something. Here's a link to a BIOS guide. I'm not a 2000/XP expert, still using 98SE.

Yup, I just did a fresh install of W2k, aperature is at 256... I'm at work now, so I can't run it at 100/266 w/ 2/2/2/5 timings... I was running at my tests at 122/325 setting and 2.5/3/3/6 (which I should probably put back down to 2/2/2/5 considering it is PC2700)... Its 2 512 Corsair XMS dimms. Haven't tried with only one dimm. My cache has and always will be on. Otherwise it'll be like a Celeron... I'll make a few changes when I get home. Hopefully it'll help a bit... dunno though... Oh yeah, score aftera fresh install... right under... 5k?!? Musta missed some drivers... :p

:disgust: I pulled out a stick and switched it to 2/2/2/5... Score? still 6200 something... Its a clean install, nothing's running except 3DMarks... My friend has a similar setup as I do, only he's got a 2.0 OCed to 2.6 (mines 2.2 OCed to 2.6), 2 sticks of 256 Samsung PC2700... and a Ti200... He gets about 1000 marks higher than me... I guess I'll do some more OCing... Don't know if that'll do anything... Any other suggestions? I'm desperate!

Try running everything at stock speeds first and see if you get a regular score.

What are your temps? Your CPU could be slowing down because of high temps. Set everything to default and bench again. If it isn't your temps then take your video card to your friends house and test it on his computer. Then test his card in your computer. That is if he'll let you.:)

Well, I think theres a problem w/ my MB or Video card cuz I ran it at 1x AGP and I got almost the same score as I did w/ 4x AGP... 200 point difference... I'm planning on swapping out the card and borrowing his to see if its the card or the Mobo... Anyone think it could be someone else? My temps under load is 52 max... so I don't think heat is really that much of an issue... I've run Sandra Benchmarks on memory, cache + memory, cpu arithmetic, and cpu multimedia and everything's fine and at where its supposed to be... (it measures up w/ a 2.66B or something, loses to SMT 2.66) So I'm pretty sure its MB or Video card now... unless someone has a different opinion? oh yeah, i did tests at stock speeds... its slightly slower... no real change...
