Okay here we go.......
Case is a NIKIA MT-2000
Mother board Asus a7v 266

What I need.... A ribon calbe that will go from the motherboard USB thingy to the front of the case and plug into the existing usb ports there... Right now it has these usb cords that you have to run out the back of the case and plug into the existing usb on the back of themotherboard.. It has like a straight 9 or 10 pin plug on it.... so any ideas??????????? help me please.... thanks!

A front panel USB extension kit should have what you need. They are commonly available - about $15. CompUSA stocks them

I understand that . . . but for $14.95 you can afford to have a "spare part" and just use the cable. At least you can identify it. :)

If nothing else, you can see who the mfgr is and check with them. The problem with finding something like this is knowing what to call it. My mobo has a second (aux) USB tap on the mobo, and it is a standard 10-pin block connector. I don't know what is at the back end of your case ports, but logic says it would be the same. The USB line uses 9 pins - same as a mouse cable.

That port on the mobo for USB 2 & 3 is turned on/off in BIOS on my mobo. Assume your mobo has a similar port? You don't usually go from the outside USB backplane to the iside of your case connector. Have you checked with your case mfgr?

Didn't find anything at PC Liquidators that meets the requirement with the possibility of the mobo to backplane USB cable and bracket. The two USB connectors could be removed and replace those in your case. But I think that Antec has a better idea . . .

Antec

This really is a case maker's thing. The cable for case USB ports should logically come with the case. The mobo port is a standard 10 pin block - 2 rows of 5 with one missing. 9 are used. Anyway, . . . it's worth a bump! :)

Thanks for all the info so far.. I have contacted the case mfg... but they have not responded yet.. I know what you mean when you talk about the pins on the mobo.. see if I can do this. they look like
. . . .
. . . . .

That is the mobo end of it.. now the part on the case goes like this

. . . . . . . . .

And basically the plasitc part looks like a big 3 pin fan plug except it has 9 pins instead.....

and the case came with cables that go to the front usb ports, but on the end they are just 2 USB jacks.. like would come on a printer or a joystick, or scanner.. I guess they are planning on you running it out the back or some weird thing....

nope not the cable..... and a cut down udma cable? um..... that would work if I could find the connectors and a diagram of the pins... I have a diagram of the pins on the mobo... I need a diagram of the pins on the front of the case connector..... anyone else have ideas?
